MMOV 2024 End-of-Year Activities in West Africa

Mighty Men of Valor (MMOV) embarked upon the distribution of some food items in short trips to Fala community in the Central River Region of the Gambia, Benin City and Ibadan in Nigeria, both in the West African sub-region.

The gifting events which are in line with some of the aims and objectives of Mighty Men of Valor was done to assist with impacting ‘the least of these’ in our own efforts to ensure the people partake in feeding during the Yuletide because of the higher cost of cooking ingredients.

Food donations including bags and smaller measurements of rice were taken to mostly rural settlements and suburbs.

We let them know that even though Mighty Men of Valor (and their donors) ensured distribution of the food items, it is the grace of God that enabled the action through the benevolence of concerned people under the auspices of Mighty Men of Valor.

Different trips were undertaken by Emmanuel George to the Gambia, while Henry Omoregie distributed some food items made up of premium quality rice, onions, tomato puree and vegetable oils; and 5,000 naira cash tokens in Benin City, Edo State between December 20 to December 31, 2024.

Mr Olaore and others distributed to the neediest of the needy in Ibadan in Nigeria. Food Donations and some cash tokens were handed over to some orphanages, persons with disability, widows, local missionaries in Ibadan, Nigeria from December 12 through 15, 2024.

In line with the objectives of Mighty Men of Valor, the donation events were held to provide food assistance to the least of these in suburban and rural communities, helping them cope with high cooking ingredient costs during the Yuletide season.

Adequately measured donations of rice and other essentials were distributed, with acknowledgment of the donors and Mighty Men of Valor’s efforts, while also recognizing the grace of God that made the initiative possible.

The recipients of the food items in the Gambia, Benin City, and Ibadan in Nigeria expressed heartfelt gratitude and joy upon receiving the donations.

In the rural settlements and suburbs, the faces of the beneficiaries lit up with smiles as they received the bags of rice and other essentials. Their eyes sparkled with appreciation, and they expressed their thanks through warm hugs and handshakes, tears of joy and relief, prayers and blessings for the donors and the Mighty Men of Valor team, songs and chants of gratitude, heartfelt words of appreciation, such as “Thank you for remembering us” and “God bless you abundantly”

The recipients were particularly touched by the kindness and generosity of ‘strangers’, which reminded them that they were not forgotten during the challenging Yuletide season. The donations brought hope, comfort, and a sense of community to the recipients in these rural communities.
