MMOV GIVES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO WIDOWS IN AFRICA

Mighty Men of Valor (MMOV) have continued their efforts to improve the conditions of underprivileged individuals in Africa.

In one of such activities, MMOV donated N1,920,000 (One million, nine hundred and twenty thousand naira) to support the widows at the Mercy Widows Empowerment Ministry during their program on May 19 and 20, 2025, focusing on empowering them through soft grants to initiate or expand their businesses.

The activities were carried out as follows

DAY 1 – Monday 19th May, 2025
Venue: Christ Way HQ Church, Iredapo, Ile-lfe
Time: 2pm to 6pm
There were three seminars .
1.  Economic Empowerment 
2.  Spiritual Empowerment 
3.  Prayer Ministration 

Altar call 
Altar calls were conducted on two occasions. Initially, 17 individuals expressed their intentions, followed by a subsequent call that garnered the attention of 350 participants.
Attendance: Workers – 122, Widows – 822
Total – 944.

Material distribution

All the widows were graciously provided with moinmoin (bean pudding) alongside a generous allocation of 2 kilograms of rice, 2 sachets of tomato purée, and 2 sachets of vegetable oil (45 milliliters). Those seeking economic empowerment were invited to return the following day.

DAY 2 – Tuesday 20/5/25

Attendance: 29 widows and 9 workers. The widows completed application forms and underwent interviews. Information gathered from the forms and the interviews encompassed personal biodata, current employment status and income, areas of interest, and financial implications. Twenty-six individuals were interviewed, counseled, and subsequently granted financial assistance ranging from N20,000 to N250,000. (Details attached). They came to sign after receiving the funds via bank transfer. A total of N1,920,000 was disbursed.

5 new applications have emerged subsequent to the program, which are yet to be addressed. Attached are the video recordings of the widows who received financial assistance, expressing their gratitude and appreciation towards the institution.. 

A monitoring team has been set up to monitor progress of their businesses.
