Project Update: Mighty Men of Valor Fulfills Promise to Kersey Children’s Home

December 18, 2025

Dear Supporters, Partners, and Friends of Mighty Men of Valor,

We are thrilled to share this joyful update on our ongoing support for Kersey Children’s Home in Ogbomoso, Oyo State—one of the oldest orphanages in West Africa, dedicated to caring for vulnerable children with love and compassion.

It all began on June 24, 2025, when Pastor Manny Newton, accompanied by two of his sons, visited the home following a heartfelt conversation with the matron, Mrs. Oyelade. She shared the pressing challenges faced by the orphanage, highlighting urgent needs to improve the children’s living conditions. During the visit, Pastor Manny assessed the situation firsthand and identified three key areas requiring immediate intervention:

  1. Repainting: Five rooms with peeling and worn-out walls to create a safer, brighter, and more cheerful environment for the children.
  2. Equipment Repairs: Fixing the broken kitchen refrigerator and generator, critical for proper food storage and reliable power supply.
  3. Kitchen Upgrade: Replacing the damaged wooden kitchen counter to ensure hygienic and safe meal preparation.

This visit built on Mighty Men of Valor’s longstanding commitment to the home, which has previously received donations of food items, medical care, and essential supplies from our ministry.

Today, as of Wednesday, December 17, 2025, we are overjoyed to announce that the promise has been fulfilled! The management and staff of Kersey Children’s Home have provided proof of the completed work, and we at Mighty Men of Valor are proud to confirm that we have successfully addressed Items #2 and #3 in full.

Completed Interventions:

  • Equipment Repairs (Item #2): The broken refrigerator and generator have been professionally repaired and are now fully operational. This ensures uninterrupted power for lighting, fans, and preservation of perishable food, directly improving daily life and health for the children and staff.
  • Kitchen Upgrade (Item #3): Going above and beyond the initial plan, the old wooden kitchen cabinet and counter were completely replaced with durable concrete structures for greater longevity and resistance to wear. Additionally, the kitchen walls and floor have been beautifully retiled, transforming the space into a modern, hygienic area conducive to safe and efficient meal preparation.

The project documentation captures the refreshing final completion. We have also compiled compelling before-and-after footage that vividly illustrates the remarkable transformation.

To celebrate this milestone, the management and staff of Kersey Children’s Home have shared a heartfelt appreciation video, expressing profound gratitude to Pastor Manny Newton, Mighty Men of Valor, and all our generous supporters. In the video is the upgraded kitchen and demonstrate the restored equipment in action.

While we rejoice in completing the equipment repairs and kitchen upgrade, the need for repainting the five rooms (Item #1) remains. We continue to pray for partners who will join us in finishing this final phase, bringing even more brightness and safety to the children’s living spaces.

This achievement is a testament to what God can do through faithful giving and united efforts. Thank you to everyone who prayed, donated, or supported this initiative. Your contributions have brought tangible hope and improvement to these precious children.
