The School for the Blind in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has faced a persistent challenge over the past 20 years—the lack of a grass (or lawn) mower to maintain its overgrown compound. The unkempt environment posed safety and health risks to students and staff, making it an urgent but unresolved issue.

On June 12, 2025, MMOV (Mission to Make Others Victorious) donated five HP laptops with larger screens to the school, along with “TALK” software to assist visually impaired students. During this visit, the school also highlighted their need for four new tires for their van. After MMOV’s intervention gained attention, a community member stepped forward to donate the tires, which MMOV had planned to provide.

Recognizing another critical need, MMOV took action once again by purchasing and donating a grass mower to the school. This generous contribution has finally resolved a two-decade-long struggle, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for students, especially around the school and hostel areas.

Impact:

20-year challenge resolved – The school can now maintain its surroundings effectively
Improved safety & hygiene – Reduced risks associated with overgrown grass
Continued support – MMOV’s commitment to empowering the school beyond technology
