The Rescue Team Global Ministry (RTGM) serves as an initiative to aid widows, widowers, orphans, physically challenged individuals, and village missionaries. According to Gemini, Google’s AI, one in ten African women above the age of 14 is widowed. For some, the loss of a partner is intertwined with a new issue – their basic rights and dignity being affected. Widows, in particular, may face social exclusion, economic hardship, and even violence depending on local traditions. These widows do not have equal inheritance rights, and they may be stripped of their land, evicted from their homes, or even separated from their children. They may be denied inheritance access, joint funds, etc; this can have considerable financial bearings for them, their children, and future generations (Unwomen). MMOV serves as one of the organizations taking on this existing plight. RTGM offers free skills acquisition & training for 11 individuals.
These skills include soap making, hairdressing, fashion designing, and baking. These graduates also have the opportunity of receiving soft grants; as well as allocated funds for purchasing starting equipment in their majors.
